Accessibility
This is the official accessibility statement for the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA) website.
The CIEA website has been built with the intention of making the content accessible to the widest range of visitors, regardless of disability or impairment. This has been achieved by adhering to best practices, such as compliance with W3C standards, and by careful reference to the standards set out by the Office of the E-Envoy.
If you have any questions or comments, please email our web team at info@ciea.org.uk.
This accessibility statement records the main steps that we have taken to accommodate the needs of disabled people:
- We have designed our site to be completely accessible in accordance with version 1.0 of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG v1.0) so that it conforms to AAA accessibility checkpoints
- We use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for layout
- We have included access keys to aid navigation on this site. Below is a summary of access keys used:
0 = Accessibility page
1 = Home
3 = Sitemap
6 = Help
9 = Contact us
S = Skip Navigation - Adjusting the text size of our site: you can easily adjust the text size to your own preferences. In Internet Explorer select the 'View' menu at the top of the browser. The default setting is medium, but you can increase or decrease this to meet your own needs. If you are not using Internet Explorer the method is very similar. For instance Netscape has a setting called 'text zoom' and Mozilla is exactly the same as with Internet Explorer.
The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA) wants its website to be accessible to all users. As such we closely follow the best-practice recommendations set out in the Illustrated Handbook for Web Management Teams on the e-Government Unit Website.
