Chartered Educational Assessor (CEA) Training
Schools require a greater level of professional support to enable them to deliver a fit-for-purpose assessment system. That is the role of the CEA.

CIEA Assessment Compendia
The compendia on the following pages have been designed by practitioners to help you improve your skill levels.
Each compendium looks at the skills and competencies outlined in the CIEA Professional Framework, under the five headings of the Framework:
- Preparing for Assessment
- Conducting Assessment
- Feeding Back after Assessment
It also highlights the personal and interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively
- Performing Effectively
- Managing and working with others
Each compendium looks at assessment practices within a different context:
- The External Summative context
- The Internal Summative context
- The Vocational context
- The Formative context, or assessment for learning (AfL)
Each context is treated in exactly the same way, giving information about who should use that particular compendium and how to use it. Case studies are also given so that users may recognise themselves in the user guide.
This is followed by a break down of each skill area into its component parts, as outlined within the Professional Framework.
