CIEA Professional Framework
The Institute has worked closely with all major stakeholder groups to produce the CIEA Professional Framework.
The Framework highlights the skills and competencies required to develop or maintain assessment skills of the highest order. Here on the website it offers a unique opportunity for members to analyse and explore current assessment competencies and to identify any skill gaps.
It is applicable in its current form to assessments at all levels of general qualifications in the 14-19 phase. Further work is being undertaken to extend it to other age groups and to other areas of assessment from reception classes to adult learners.
The full Framework allows the user to drill into different levels and roles, providing concise descriptions of the activities associated with each function within the assessment process. It also lists the competencies and skills you would expect to see from someone working at that level.
In the future it will describe the kinds of evidence produced by those performing a particular skill or function that will enable an Associate member to become a full Member or Fellow and, in time, a Chartered Assessor.
