New dates available for Chartered Educational Assessor Training
In response to the recent report published by the Expert Group on Assessment, the CIEA has announced new dates for Chartered Educational Assessor (CEA) training.
The report recommends that all schools, by 2020, should have access to a CEA.
The role of the CIEA is to provide support and training to schools, colleges and individuals to improve their assessment skills.

New Masters Qualification in assessment
|
|
Over the last two years we have been working with a number of universities to develop a Master's level qualification in educational assessment.
This September will be the first year that the qualification will be offered at Bath Spa University. If you are interested in finding out more then please click here.
Over the course of the next year we will also be launching the Master's qualification at the following universities:

CIEA to host Diploma Assessment workshop
|
|
The CIEA have been invited to the QCAs 4th Delivering the Diploma Conference to be held in Birmingham on the 1st October 2009. The CIEA will host workshop D which focuses on the assessment of the Diploma.
The CIEA is providing Lead and Domain Assessor training on a consortia basis. If you are interested in finding out more about the training then please email info@ciea.org.uk
CIEA Diploma Assessment web resource
The CIEA have also created an online resource that looks at best practice information and guidance to support those who are responsible for the assessment of the Diplomas.
The resource includes centre and consortia-based case studies (compiled in association with QCA) and the CIEA is keen to increase the number that currently feature. If your centre or consortia would like to feature please email info@ciea.org.uk.

CIEA and NFER assessment seminar review

The CIEA, in partnership with NFER hosted a timely seminar at the Royal Institute of Architects on June 2nd. The seminar concerned itself with methods for ensuring the reliability of teacher assessments in a rapidly changing context of national assessments.

CIEA attend TLA conference
|
|
The CIEA recently attended the Teacher Learning Academy (TLA) National Conference, in London on Tuesday 23rd June. The conference focused on the professional knowledge base created by thousands of teachers taking part in the TLA training The CIEA works closely with the TLA and has developed an assessment-specific route to TLA recognition at stage 1.Read more...

Ofqual publishes exam readiness report
|
|
The Diploma report describes Ofqual's work to date on regulating the Diploma, identifies risks to the first delivery of the first awards in August and presents Ofqual's view's on the readiness of the system.
Diploma report
The marker capacity report looks at the awarding organisations' capacity to mark GCSE and A level examinations in summer 2009. It presents a review of marker recruitment, training and quality assurance.
