Annual General Meeting
It is intended to hold future meeting in October each year. The scheduling of the 2009 meeting has had to be deferred following the annual audit of the first set of published accounts - which will be presented in full at the AGM.
The aims of the AGM are
- To receive a report of the business for the previous financial year;
- To receive the Trustees' report and the accounts for the financial year (just ended);
- To elect the auditors for the coming financial year;
- To receive the results of membership elections and confirm new appointments into post.
The meeting also gives members the opportunity to ask questions about the activities of the Institute and members' resolutions may be debated. Questions and member resolutions are only accepted if received in writing, at least 48 hours before the meeting.
Registering attendance at the 2009 Annual General Meeting
As an eligible voting member (Associate, Member or Fellow) of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors, you are entitled to attend, speak and vote at a general meeting.
Attending the AGM in person isn't the only way to join in.
If you choose not to attend the general meeting, you are entitled to appoint a proxy to exercise all or any of your rights to attend, speak and vote at a general meeting of the company. A proxy must be another eligible voting member of the CIEA.
A formal invitation has already been issued to all eligible members - if you have not received the invitation or have any questions regarding the Annual General Meeting, please contact ciea-agm@ciea.org.uk.
The formal AGM business will held from 11.00 to 12.00 hours on Tuesday 8 December 2009 Invision Suite of Congress Centre 28 Great Russell Street London WC1B3LS.
There will be an opportunity to meet the Chairman and the Trustees after the formal proceedings have finished until the formal commencement of the Board of Trustees meeting at 12.30 hours.
