Membership allows you to access a range of products and services to support you in your role as an educational assessor.
Our members benefit from a range of products and services, including a regular magazine, networking events, an interactive website, financial advice, , and access to research and publications related to assessment.

Membership - Who can join?
The Institute is dedicated to supporting those involved in educational assessment. Different grades of membership are available depending on your skills and experience in educational assessment. For established examiners, markers and moderators we offer professional grades of membership. For those with an interest in educational assessment, or working towards qualifications in assessment or teaching, we offer affiliated grades of membership allowing you access to a full range of products and services.
There are different grades of membership, ranging from an Affiliate member (someone who has an interest in assessment issues) to a Fellow (an assessor with more than five years of assessment experience).

Fellowship (FIEA)
Fellowship is available to the most experienced and expert practitioners in educational assessment with at least five years experience in assessment at a senior level. As well as accessing a full range of products and services, Fellows are eligible to use post-nominals and can participate in Institute elections.
Full Member (MIEA)
Full Membership is for more advanced assessors, able to demonstrate at least three years' relevant educational assessment experience. As well as accessing a full range of products and services, Members are eligible for post-nominals and can participate in Institute elections.
Associate (AIEA)
If you have 1-3 years' experience in educational assessment, you should consider joining as an Associate Member. As well as accessing a full range of products and services, Associates are eligible for post-nominals and can participate in Institute elections.
Affiliate
Affiliate Membership is open to anyone with an interest in assessment, regardless of qualifications and experience, allowing you to access a full range of products and services provided by the Institute.
Student
If you're pursuing a relevant course of study, you could join the Institute as a Student Member. Student membership allows you to access a full range of products and services to support your study and prepare you for an assessment role.
Membership - Why join?
By joining the Institute, members will be able to develop a better knowledge of assessment, as well as having improved access to best practice in assessment and networking opportunities. The Institute will also provide access to events, conferences, research papers, journals, and qualifications in assessment.
