What's in it for you?
Through the Teacher Learning Academy you can:
- Enrich your own teaching practice, gaining recognition for your achievements.
- Create tangible changes that impact directly on your pupils learning.
- Contribute to school improvement through sharing your learning with colleagues.
How do I gain Teacher Learning Academy recognition?
- Identify a project in your classroom or school where you wish to bring about change and improvement. This may be:
- a performance management objective,
- an issue that has roots in your school's improvement priorities,
- a change you have decided to address in your own classroom.
As a CIEA Member you may wish to consider an issue which relates to assessment.
- hoose which of the four Teacher Learning Academy stages is most appropriate for you.
- Select a mentor or coach who can help you in your learning.
- Submit your work to be verified by a teacher who has been specially trained by the GTCE.
Don't just take our word for it! see what fellow CIEA members have to say about the scheme:
'My research has updated my knowledge and given me new ideas which I have developed the confidence to try out.' (Brenda Harvey, Newcastle)
'The influence I have had on the practice of others is to encourage them to re-consider these small but significant details when delivering and assessing assessment based activities and reminding them of the opportunity to differentiate materials for pupils with different learning styles to raise achievement.' (Fiona Parson, (Fiona Parsons, London)
'It has been a really enjoyable and rewarding process and it has certainly had an impact on my teaching.' (James Raymond, Leeds)
