Assessing Pupils' Progress (APP) - Making it Easy
The Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) has issued a single sided fact sheet relating to APP. It is an attempt to dispel some of the myths surrounding APP and its use in schools.
The fact sheet gives hints and tips about reducing workload whilst ensuring that national standards are used in developing APP processes within a school.
There is no need to collect large portfolios of work for each student. There is no need to run other assessment systems alongside APP, thereby making APP a bolt-on activity and increasing workload.
