Assistant principal moderator

Role

Where the moderation team for an internally assessed component is so large that there are too many team leaders for the principal moderator to monitor effectively, one or more assistant principal moderators are appointed. They support the principal moderator by supervising some of the team leaders. Assistant principal moderators are responsible to the principal moderator for the quality of their own moderation duties and for the work they carry out in order to monitor their teams of team leaders. Assistant principal moderators may also assist principal examiners in other aspects of their work, for example in helping to collate exemplar material or in carrying out remedial work with problem centres.

Qualifications

Assistant principal moderators are usually senior moderators with several years of experience as a team leader.
