Insights
You will find here a new product from the CIEA - CIEA Insights. This is in the form of an audio visual presentation, but it can be used simply as a powerpoint presentation for training purposes, an MP3 file to listen to at your leisure or as a combination of the two.
The following Insights can be applied to any given learning context and begin by looking at the processes of question setting, conducting assessment and feeding back after assessment, data handling, as well as emerging technologies and their impact upon assessment.

Data HandlingThis Insight looks at how to organise different sets of data for different purposes. |

Conducting AssessmentThe insight considers the processes involved in effective moderation and standardisation techniques, as well as ensuring both accuracy and consistency. |

Feeding back on assessmentThe Insight looks at feedback for both summative and formative assessment, its impact upon the learner, upon other assessors, upon senior managers and on other "stakeholders" such as parents and the wider community. |

Question SettingThis short insight will give you a glimpse of some key aspects of question setting, including question types, good practice and some of the pitfalls to avoid. |

Technology in AssessmentThis short Insight will give a glimpse of some current issues regarding the use of technology in assessment, including computers in exams, the use of a digital pen, using computers to assess open writing. |
