Passed Papers Editorial Board
Terms of Reference
1. Purpose of the group
The purpose of the Editorial Board will be to publish the bi-annual issues of the e-journal
The Board aims to:
. produce the journal on a bi-annual basis.
. produce the e-journal in high-quality format.
. publish the e-journal as an electronic product and make it available in hard copy for those who request that format
2. Name of the group
The group will be called the Passed Papers Editorial Board.
3. Terms of reference
The e-journal "Passed Papers" will be published bi-annually. Each issue is given a running number and the month and year of publication.
4. Membership of the group
Membership is open to any participating HEI member, plus one student from each HEI. There will also be a chair nominated from the CIEA but the Board will not exceed 14 members at any one time, plus the chair.
When appropriate, and after consultation with the members, the group may wish to co-opt additional members because of their expertise and/or experience who will be given voting rights.
5. Ways of working
The Chair will serve for three years with an option of a further term. The Chair will be supported by a vice-chair, who will be a student at one of the participating HEIs, who will rotate annually
Six production editors, outlined above, will share the work of reviewing articles for each issue. The group will also work on the following issue to ensure continuity.
Physical meetings of the group will be held on an ad hoc basis. An annual meeting will be held in early September.
The group will conduct most of its business by e-mail.
All HEI partner staff are encouraged to submit articles for inclusion in the journal. Guidance on what can be submitted and how to submit articles for inclusion will be available on the CIEA website.
- The Editorial Board will ensure that the guidelines are followed for each issue
6. Feedback mechanisms
The Chair of the group shall co-ordinate the posting of documents to the CIEA website.
A report on the activities of the group will be submitted to the CIEA for inclusion in its annual report
7. Review mechanism
These terms of reference will be reviewed and updated one year from their formal acceptance by the Editorial Board.
