Senco Toolkit
This toolkit will allow anyone who has to process access arrangements for National Curriculum Tests to practise interpreting the evidence as it is presented in a case study: one for Key Stage 2 and a separate one for Key Stage 3.
A number of alternatives are presented to you. Choose the access arrangement for which you would apply and then state which evidence you would submit in support of the application.
First choose the appropriate Key Stage. You will be given some background information relating to a particular candidate. You will also be given some results relating to that candidate's test scores in some standard diagnostic tests. Read this information.
Following this, you will be asked whether or not you apply for a particular arrangement for the candidate and you will be asked to specify your reasoning.
Choose the answer from a list of five and click the radio button.
Press the submit button
You will then receive a response which highlights the response that you have given as well as the response from an SEN expert.
Press the "NEXT" button
A further arrangement will be presented along with a number of choices relating to the same evidence that you have already read.
Choose what you think is the correct response and press "submit" again and repeat the procedures until you have completed all of the questions.
When you have completed all of the questions, you will be given a summary of the SEN expert's recommendations, along with the reasoning behind them. You will also be given a complete statement of all your choices.
You will then be asked to choose another test.
