CIEA National Conference 2009 Review

/upload/conference_2009/conf_2009.jpg

Over 200 delegates attended the CIEAs third National Assessment Conference at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Kensington, London, to hear keynote speakers as well as meet the new Chair of the CIEA, Lord Sutherland of Houndwood and hear the views of the Under Secretary of State, Sarah McCarthy-Fry, MP.

The aim of the conference was to examine the varying views on assessment, as the DCSF sets up a major review of existing practice. The theme of the conference was: "Quality Assuring Assessment and Embedding Good Assessment Practice."

The CIEA assembled a group of speakers, who are respected internationally as well as nationally, to give their views on teacher assessment, examinations and regulation. The supporting seminars looked at items relating to this from stretch at `A` Level, to supporting e-assessment and using e-assessment techniques to support the assessment of primary aged children.

The keynote speeches can be viewed below in both audio visual format and as power point presentations only. The seminar presentations can be downloaded from the site and a document of proceedings summarising the entire event is available also.
