CIEA to present at Westminster Forum Keynote Seminar on Testing and Assessment

Institute of Educational Assessors

All teaching professionals at the CIEA will receive a 15% discount at the Westminster Forum Keynote Seminar on Testing and Assessment, to be held in London, on 11th November 2009.

This seminar will examine the future of testing and assessment in Britain's schools. It follows the recent publication of the Expert Group on Assessment's report and the Select Committee's wide ranging enquiry last year. The meeting will discuss the amount of testing in schools, whether there is too much 'teaching to the test' resulting in a disproportionate focus on the core subjects, the role testing plays in school accountability and assess the level of public confidence in the examination system.

The keynote address will be delivered by Ofqual's acting chief executive, Isabel Nesbit as well as speakers from: QCDA; NUT; NFER; OCR; plus independent education specialists.
