2010 Membership Satisfaction Survey Results
Every year the CIEA carry's out a member survey to establish general satisfaction, gauge opinion on assessment related policy/strategy and gain feedback on CIEA tools and resources.
This year 8.8% of the individual voting member population responded to our survey via telephone interviews.
Key survey findings included:
- Member satisfaction is at its highest level since launch
- 88% of respondents will definitely renew next year
- The main three reasons for joining are:
- To help develop career
- Access to support, resources and information
- To gain CEA status
- 77% of members believe CEA status will increase professional status in line with other professions
- 90% of members agree that the DCSF announcement that every school should have access to a CEA by 2020 will significantly improve the quality of educational assessment within schools and colleges in the future
- 86% of members believe the offering masters degrees in educational assessment with our university partners will drive up assessment-related standards
- The frequency of visits to the CIEA website increased substantially since 2008 and the most popular section of the website is the Member Area
- Members believe the usefulness and relevance of the website has increased year on year since 2007 to 60.3%
- The percentage of members reading every issue of Make the Grade magazine has increased from 46% in 2007 to 90% in 2009. The overall rating of the magazine has also increased from 52% in 2007 to 75% in 2009
Membership Manager, Richard Gott, commented: 'The results from the survey are encouraging. Members are clearly satisfied with the service we provide; however I am keen to increase the use of our competency-based online tools and resources.'
