CIEA Chair appointed first Chair of Ofqual
The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors is proud to announce that its Chair, Kathleen Tattersall OBE, has been appointed as the new Chair of Ofqual, the independent regulator of qualifications in England.
This move is seen as a ringing endorsement of the way Kathleen has led the establishment and development of the CIEA over the past two years, in a manner that has attracted the widespread support and trust of key educational stakeholders.
Following her appointment, Kathleen Tattersall is to resign her role as Chair of the CIEA, and a process will begin to appoint her successor which is expected to be made in the summer.
Commenting on the appointment David Wright Head of the CIEA said 'The Institute welcomes the announcement by QCA of this appointment and also thanks Kathleen for her very hard work and efforts in supporting the CIEA over the past two years.'
Continuing David commented, 'personally I will be sorry to see Kathleen leave the CIEA but I am grateful for her efforts in putting the Institute firmly on the stakeholder map of education'.
