Durham University

in its Continuing Professional Development Programme offering a credit based route to MA or MTeach. Students can exit with a PG Cert, PG Dip or MA/MTeach with 60, 120 or 180 credits respectively, but need to first complete research modules and a dissertation for the final 90 credits if they want to complete the MA or MTeach.

The Professional Master's Programme fees vary according to the academic year and status of the applicant. There are substantial discounts for qualified teachers with DfES QTS, as the PMP is recognized by the TDA as part of its official Postgraduate Professional Development (PPD) funded programme.

Swansea Metropolitan University. The University is developing an MA in Educational Assessment programme (subject to validation) which will be taught 100% on-line and available to students at any location. It will be particularly attractive to Members and Fellows of the CIEA, and to Chartered Educational Assessors, as its modules will be closely linked to the Institute's professional standards and this will maximise opportunities for acceleration through the programme by accreditation of prior experience and learning (APEL). Due to its innovative nature and the need for careful development work, the programme will not be ready until 2012 at the earliest, but potential students can register an interest with charles.smith@smu.ac.uk
